AUG-Systems 1.0

Architected as a universal OS for skeleton-crew vessels.

“AUG Systems replaces fragmented ship telemetry with a unified, no-nonsense interface. Inspired by 1970s industrial-futurism, the system prioritises high-contrast legibility and rapid interaction loops to help a single pilot manage critical ship health under pressure.”

The Challenge
Designing for deep space is the ultimate exercise in constraint. Unlike modern web UI, built for fast connections and safe environments, AUG Systems has to work when things are going wrong: hardware malfunctions, high stress, a skeleton crew. The goal was a sensory toolkit with the clarity of a terminal and the gut-level response time of a real-time system.

The Strategy
No abstraction. In a cockpit, every decorative flourish is noise that gets in the way of survival. The lo-fi grit of a CRT display maximises focus, and treating mandatory ship tasks as mini-games sharpens response times, turning complex resource management into intuitive, repeatable loops.

The Outcome
A system that handles the heavy lifting of ship logic so the pilot can focus on the mission. Brutalist, CRT-inspired, with AI-assisted reminders built in: proof that even the most complex systems can be made intuitive through utilitarian design.
