Took a founder's Figma Make prototype and shipped a complete product in 4 months.

Senior Product Designer · 4 months · Gaming / AI-assisted workflow

THE SITUATION

After an 18-month design pause, the founder sent a prototype built in Figma Make and asked if I was impressed. Honestly? Kind of. The core loop was there. The surface needed work. The ask was to take what they'd built, make it properly ours, and move fast.

WHAT I DID

I mapped the prototype against our existing design system, absorbed the best of both, and demoed back within days. Mid-sprint the game changed, literally, we pivoted to a new game, but the architecture held. AI tooling was built deliberately into the workflow to lift productivity without sacrificing quality. Four months later, a complete E2E was handed off with animation logic and a full Lottie pipeline for dev.

OUTCOMES

  • Complete E2E design handed off in 4 months

  • 10x productivity lift through deliberate AI-assisted workflow

  • Mid-sprint game pivot navigated without rebuilding from scratch

"It wasn't 'stop everything.' It was 'how do we make what we have work harder.' That's a much better problem to solve."

The Engine
A re-engineering of the current Racino Design System to stare for new functionality and features. The challenge was to migrate the new systems without breaking the current version to avoid user disruption and to later run over the top by switching themes. This was also a good chance to uplift components and styles that needed improving based on internal and player feedback. Also a chance to do a massive clean-up of 2.5 years of legacy components and tokens. The system was build and setup in a way that I could go on a Design Pause with everything in place towards rapid development. The system caters for responsive web.

Key Focus: Brand Identity, UX Architecture, Design Systems, Gamified Onboarding

“We need a NEW design system based on the core platform that caters for improved UX and components with the intention of setting up as a vanilla platform for other products.”
